WELCOMEWelcome to the Worcestershire Provincial Grand Lodge, R.A.O.B. web site. Our aim is to promote the Province, the Lodges within it and the Buffalo Order in general by showing the general public some of what we do, as well as informing members, visitors and prospective member where we are and what we're up to.We are a Social and Benevolent Order and our objects are to assist necessitous members and the widows and dependants of deceased members; to support such philanthropic and charitable objects, both locally and nationally, as may be deemed desirable; and to encourage fraternity, friendship and mutual understanding amongst the members. The Order gives its members a chance to enjoy each other company while having an opportunity to give to and help raise funds for many good causes. The Order has Benevolent Funds that are there to support a Brother in need and of course any dependants he leaves behind, Convalescent Homes to help a member or his partner/widow return to fitness after illness and also education funds that help gifted youngsters where the parents circumstances make this difficult. All this funded out of the enjoyment of an evening out with the Boys.The Worcestershire Province now has 20 Lodges, a number which unfortunately has been decreasing due to falling numbers that have caused many lodges to amalgamate. The Provincial Grand Lodge holds it meetings each month to which each Lodge sends delegates. There is also a Benevolence Committee to administer that fund in the Province, and an Examining Council that helps members to progress through to the second degree of the Order. These committees report to the Provincial Grand Lodge. The Province also has its own Journal which is published bi-monthly for Lodges and members to share their news and views with each other. In such a large area it helps keep our Lodges closer together. That then is a brief description of what we are and what we do, we hope our web site enlightens you.
