The Examining Council of
Worcestershire has the unique distinction of being 16 years older than
the Province, having been formed in 1898 at the same time as the District
Primo Lodge. The
function of the Council is simply to examine members on their ability to
run a Minor Lodge, an essential skill when moving to the second degree of
our Order. In the days when the Province had many more Lodge and a
membership to match, this was possibly the busiest committee to be on. In
1959 the Council decided to run an annual Dinner Dance for candidates to
attend, as a celebration of their progress in the Order. Although these
candidates are now, alas, too few, the function still survives
as one of the most popular events in the Worcestershire Buffalo calendar.
The event on 30th October, 2009 was the fiftieth. |
